I honestly don’t know a THING about photography, and I so wish I did. I look at all these other blogs with beautiful photography, and I see SO many of my friends who are so talented starting businesses of their own taking pictures.
Well friends. I am a point-and-shoot kinda girl. It’s not that I don’t want to know how to take phenomenal pictures, it’s that I don’t have the time to learn, or really try. Ha. You try being a single pug momma….
Anyways, on to the subject at hand. I have always been a Sony cybershot girl, by default really. They had a tiny pink camera, and I wanted it. So I got it. It took good pics, whatever, nothing I really paid attention to. I didn’t even know how to turn the flash on for like 3 months. I kid you not.
This all changed when I got the new Canon ELPH 300 HS. I LOVE it.
Obsessed. It is the world’s thinnest digital camera, with an ultra-wide angle lens and a 5x optical zoom. Also shoots HD video. HELLO hair tutorials, here we come!
The HS System is designed for shooting in low-light situations to reduce blurring, and help capture more brilliant, detailed images.

It is also super tiny, and it has a matte finish to it which is nice, so it doesn’t slip out of my hands if I have had one too many cocktails, knowwhatimsayin?
I have really loved the pics I have been taking so far. They are SO much more clear than any of the ones I have taken with other cameras.
Right now, Canon is doing a project called Your Second Shot aimed at helping people recreate moments that didn’t turn out right the first time. If I had to pick a moment that didn’t turn out as perfect as I’d like it to, I would pick the photo of me and none other than, Miss Underwood.
While this was the hands down the COOLEST moment of my life, I had the darn camera on some funky setting, so the picture was blurry and the lighting was not the greatest. Sad story. At least I still GOT the photo, so I was a happy girl, BUT I wish I had had my elf camera back then!
Since I can’t exactly go hunt Carrie down and make her take a re-do, HA, I had to get creative. So My ‘second shot’ would be ME, dressed as Carrie for Halloween. HA!
(However please note: Canon, if you would like to set up a re-do with me and Miss Underwood, I would be completely open to such an arrangement.) just sayin’. 🙂

Love my new camera!!

Having a nice camera makes a big difference. When I had a crummy camera I didn't take as many photos. Now I could wallpaper my house with all of the pictures I've taken of my baby. 🙂
I currently have a Sony camera and my mom has one as well! I've had mine for about three years, hers for two years and I will never own another Sony camera in my lifetime. The quality of my photos over the years have deteriorated to something awful and for whatever reason, the color doesn't turn out right on my mom's. There's a lot of yellow in the pictures and the faces are normally matted to the point there's no definition whatsoever! I've tried changing the settings to no avail. It's terrible!
I'm looking at a Nikon right now. Needless to say, I've put it on my wish list for Santa this year!

A View To Remember
Taken on 4 1 2010. this was the first time i have ever taken my gf out to see one of the best views in the bay area. My friend tried to capture this moment as best as he could as me and my gf rarely meet. If I could I’d recapture and relive this moment.
I couldn't get the URL to work but a nice camera makes all the difference in the world. You never want to miss those once in life time moments!

My Sony camera sucks! I had a Canon for years and loved it, I still use that one (7-8 years old) over my brand new Sony, even though I have to charge the Canon all the time because the battery doesn't hold a charge as long.
I have a soft spot for the "Sisters at the Beach" story !

A big camera is nice to have sometimes, but there really is nothing like a small camera you can easily whip out and get good results with….sometimes it's a pain carrying around lenses and a heavy body. Hoping you get the Carrie re-do (maybe they'll take a hint!)!

I have always been a cannon girl. I have two cannon SLRs from the 70s that I used during art school. I have the 10 megapixel version of the one you posted about. It is 4 (?) years old now and still works great! I need to have it serviced bc the my zoom toggle is sticking and my on/off button is wiggly but the pictures are still amazing! Husband and I plan on getting a cannon DSLR as soon as the budget allows.

1st thanks for posting this review. I've been on the hunt for a new point and shoot for times I don't feel like dragging my huge DSLR along and this might just be the one!
As for the photo re-do's, the cloudy vows definitely gets my vote! Military? Check. Living in Japan? Check. Crappy wedding photos? Check.

My sony powershot has just died!! I'm super bummed because it worked great. However, I want a Nikon from Santa! Must be those Ashton Kutcher commericals that swayed me 🙂
I have a Canon too! I love my camera! And even though it was a little point and shoot, it took AMAZING pictures in Europe!

Omg if I could redo any pics it would be from my wedding! Our photographer missed SO many shots, and some of the ones we got with my camera were blurry because it was new and we weren't using the correct settings! BOO!
