Motherhood is hard, makeup doesn't have to be.

BIG Announcement time!

Soooo… things are changing over here for the Jenks fam in a BIG way!! I figured I tipped y’all off when I posted that our sweet little love nest home was for sale–I didn’t think that one out very well.

BUT, we definitely need more room because you probably guessed it…we’re having a BABY!!!

We are so excited (and let’s be honest, a little scared too) about this exciting news. I am 14 weeks, due June 7! I couldn’t’ have picked a busier wedding month, but such is life right? haha.

We found out I was pregnant super super early, around 4 weeks, and let me just tell you it was definitely a mental adjustment! The whole “are you serious, there is a BABY in there” was a lot to take in-especially when you don’t necessarily feel pregnant. We heard the tiny sweet heartbeat at 6 weeks, and went on a cruise with my family around 8 weeks! Not my smartest idea, being on a boat 8 weeks pregnant, holy motion sickness. But overall I have felt amazing. I had about two weeks of being nauseous in the evenings, and some wicked headaches I would like to never have again, but other than that I have felt great! I feel so blessed, I know that is not the case for most pregnant women!

We could not be happier. I have dreamed of being a mommy my whole life, and this is just so surreal. I can’t believe it is my turn! I am really soaking in this time, this first pregnancy. I have been super selfish with my time and energy, and you know what? Not mad about it, haha. I know this time, the calm before the storm if you will, will be short lived so I want to enjoy every moment of it!

How is Tim doing you ask? He is great. He is so excited to be a dad, he is going to be such a great one too!! I hope our little babe gets his hair and his blue eyes! A girl can dream right?? So what kinda baby do you all think this is?? Boy? Girl? I want hear guesses!!

Also, this little dress is one of my favorites, and has been perfect for the “is there a bump or isn’t there” stage of pregnancy I am currently at. Basically I just feel like I have had too many carbs, but no real significant bump to speak of.

The dress is back in stock, so HURRY, it sold out fast last time! I also linked the skirt and top in this print below, as well as some other options if you’re as into plaid as I am right now. I can’t find my shoes anywhere, but I linked some similar Mary Jane options, who doesn’t love a classic Mary Jane am I right?

I have been wanting to share this news since I found out, so this feels like CHRISTMAS MORNING! I am definitely going to be turning to you all for all of the pregnancy insider info! And can I just say, coincidence I think NOT that Carrie underwood is also pregnant right now? Yes my love for her still runs deep.

Right now I am looking for good pregnancy books, so if you have any favorites, leave me a comment below! I also would love to hear guesses on if you think this baby is a boy or a girl! GO!

xoxo

oh my goodness thank you so much Lisa!! That means the world, I sure hope I can figure it all out! But you are right, it is such a gift and such a blessing!

And oh my gosh, Family Feud, LOL! They still replay that all the time, I want to crawl under the table. I mean who says “ta-tas” on national television. Me. HA! xo

What exciting news!! Being pregnant is crazy and wonderful. Adjusting to a life of complete sobriety is bizarre. Lol. But the one book I tell all my mom-to-be friends they have to get is Moms on Call. Every friend of mine has sworn by it. It has a sleep schedule that will literally be a life saving. Congrats and hope all is well throughout your pregnancy. ????

    • admin says:

Thank you so much Jessica!! I haven’t heard of that one, so THANK YOU! I hear ya, I told my husband earlier how Christmas parties just aren’t the same these days without a glass of wine haha. Thank you so much, we are so excited and feel so blessed!

Congrats!! Baby Bargains is a great book. Also, I found Lucie’s list to be the most helpful website, by far. So happy for you!!

Oh, yay! What a blessing for your family!
I say forget all the books and listen to your best girlfriends and your mama. They know best!
I am a horrible guesser…but I hope it’s a girl because she will have THE best hair ????
