What’s on your playlist? And a hair update…

Wow, I had NO idea you all were so helpful. Well actually I did, but still, THANK you for all of your comments yesterday! I have stocked up on many a product to fix this hair issue. Also I am laying off the heat. See… I didn’t wash it this morning, OR poof it, I just went with it. Ha.
{shimmery scarf from Express, earrings F21, and necklace is dogeared I believe}
Next topic up for discussion: I fear I am showing early signs of turning into my parents.
I remember when my dad didn’t want a cd player in his car like decades ago cause he liked his cassette tapes. Umm….
Well, I have this brand new car with all these features, and what do I wanna do? Listen to cd’s.
My phone bluetooths to my radio, so all of my songs go straight to the car, but I just can’t get past wanting to listen to my cds. I think it’s because they are easy, and I know them. Anyhoo, I am trying to be hip here and update my playlists so I can make use of this crazy technology. Lawwwd help us all.
What cd’s am I listening to right now?
I’m so glad you asked.
And of course…

Where would a girl be without Miss Underwood ya know?
My goal this weekend is to update the ole ipod with some new jams, it is 2012 for cryin’ out loud.
Currently taking song suggestions. GO.

Sooooo good! Plus I get to see him next month so I'm prepping myself to know all the songs before then! HAHA

  12. No CD player? That's just crazy talk. I used mine over the holidays to listen to Michael Buble. I didn't want Christmas music on my phone. πŸ˜›

As far as music goes, I'm a big fan of Blake Shelton and George Strait.

  13. Lindsey says:

Did we not want to give a shout out to your homesickle who introduced you to your Miranda faves?? No, no … that's ok. Too late now.

  18. JJ says:

    love the hair. very pretty.
David Nail has a new cd out, the sound of a million dreams. AMAZING!

Did you get the cd by Miranda's group, Pistol Annie's? SOOO GOOD! I went back to listening to the Coal Miner's Daughter, tribute to Loretta Lynn, Miranda and Carrie are both on that. WOOT! Kelly Clarkson's newish cd is very good. She does a cover of Carrie's "I told you so".

  19. Sami says:

My FAVEEEEE country CD at the moment is Eli Young Band's Life at Best. I started listening to them because they are from the town I went to college in. Anywhoo all of their CD's are good but their latest is the best. Crazy Girl and Even if it Breaks Your Heart.. I die. And as always I'm a firm believer that everyone in the world should listen to Gavin DeGraw but that's just me πŸ˜‰

  20. Umm, yes. Pistol Annies! Pistol Annies! Pistol Annies! Also still obsessed with the Pumped Up Kicks song. :/

  21. jessica says:

what no cd player? that's kinda jank. when i went car shopping this past summer i got into a ride that didn't have a cd player..automatically disliked it! lol. i do use my ipod a lot but i love me a good mixed cd.

i mainly listen to rap..you seem more of a country girl. but you really can't go wrong with Outkast or check out Shwayze..he has a lot of feel good jams, like corona and lime.

  22. shay says:

pearl is such a cute name for your new ride, congrats!

i've been obsessed with christina perri lately… she's not country but has some great songs!

  23. Theresa says:

  26. Kellie Pickler's new album comes out on January 24th! And I totally understand about the CD shenanigans. I still enjoy actually going to the store and purchasing the CD rather than buying it on iTunes. I get so excited to flip through the little booklet and see if lyrics are in there. A little part of me wishes we still bought records like our parents did.

  27. Ashley H. says:

Florence + The Machines and Kelly Clarkson

  28. Kayla says:

Just started following you – love your blog and your hair looks great like that πŸ™‚

This probably sounds completely like a little child but I love Lauren Alaina's cd. For only being 16, she has a very good cd. I also second everyone on Pistol Annie's.

  29. .hannah. says:

I fully expect you to be at Carrie with me in May. Baton Rouge hasn't seen southern beauty like ours…ha!

  30. Caroline says:

I second the Pistol Annies recommendation.. "Hell on Heels" is my go-to belt-it-out tune for driving

  31. A lot of carmakers are saying they won't be putting CD players into ANY future car models… πŸ™

I'm a CD girl too, can't beat a good old-fashioned mix CD, especially one full of country cuties.

P.S. Love the hairstyle, super cute.

  32. BP says:

Lauren Alaina's Wildflower! Dirt Road Prayer and 18 inches (carrie cowrite) are awesome! Oh and the Locket!

    Also Kelly Clarkson's Stronger!

Bruno Mars and Katy Perry have some catchy pop tunes too!

  33. Amber Lynn says:

tutorial on the hair..No? it's gorgeous.

  34. Your hair looks amazing! So cute! And those earrings, are so adorable. I cannot believe you got them from forever 21. Was it long ago? because I totally want them now! Love your blog & so glad I am following you now! Can't wait to read more!

  35. Jen says:

Eden's Edge is awesome! I've had "Amen" an repeat for days.

Anything by Luke Bryan is good. One of my favorites is "Sorority Girl" I always listen to it when I'm getting ready to go out πŸ™‚

Jason Aldean is amazing. I've been spending a lot of time lately in the town I went to college in. Tattoo's On This Town is my unofficial theme song for time in Oxford.

  36. Jen says:

Grrr, on repeat. Clearly I can't type!

  37. H says:

I third the Lauren Alaina mention! One of those boys and The Middle on her cd Wildflower are awesome! The whole cd is really good!

Also Jason Aldean and if you listen to Christian music at all francesca battistelli is really good!

  38. Kodie says:

I love me some Miranda, Jake, and Carrie πŸ™‚

Lady A's new CD was on repeat in my car for forever! I'm also obsessed with anything having to do with Luke Bryan, Eric Church (the song Springsteen is AMAZING), and Jason Aldean πŸ™‚

  39. Shannon says:

Song suggestions?? Girl, I could go on for days.:)I echo the suggestions from others about Eric Church & Eli Young Band and as far as Luke Bryan goes, you definitely need to download his Spring Break EP's that are only available on Itunes. Such fun songs! There's a new country guy out named Frankie Ballard that you might not have heard of yet, he's pretty good. Love and Theft(the cute boys in my profile picture) have a new single out called "Angel Eyes" and it's great! Chris Young and Will Hoge are new faves of mine as well…Would love to see you do a review of the songs you download from everyone's Suggestions! πŸ™‚

  40. Arielle says:

I like the inside of your car! which vw is it? πŸ™‚

  41. Magan says:

PLL homegirl needs a tutorial on how to achieve this chic hurrrr do you are rockin' today! Seriously! I've got the faux braid/twisty thing down but I'm wanting to see this awesome bun/chignon you've got done. Do share…please!

  42. I am late to the game but I just saw your hair post. You may need to add some oil hair products. All of those products are protein based. I like the macadamia oil shampoo/conditioner. You could add this to your shampoo rotation.

    http://search.ulta.com/nav/brand/Macadamia%20Natural%20Oil/0

I also love Kerstase Elixir. It is expensive, but it has done wonders for my hair. I use it EVERY SINGLE DAY. When I use my protein shampoos, I put 1 pump on my hair wet (from the nape of the neck down). And after I finish styling my wig, I put 1/2 pump on the very tips of my hair. I have been using this since March and I have only used half the bottle. After 1 month of use, I has so many people asking what I was doing differently because my hair was super shiney. You can also put this in your hair while dry just before you wash it for extra moisture.

    http://www.kerastase-usa.com/_en/_us/conso/products/elixirultime/index.aspx

I only wash my hair every 2-3 days, but I use heat every day(flat irons, curling irons, hot rollers – you name it I use it!) and I poof my hair daily. I think the elixir has made the biggest difference. I also rotate my shampoos or I mix the macadamia oil shampoo with my volumizing shampoo.

    I hope this helps!

  43. Kara says:

You can never go wrong with Zac Brown Band. I LOVE them – they are so much fun!! πŸ˜€

  44. maNda says:

i'm going to see miranda lambert in a few weeks! SO excited!!

  45. oooh! pearl is such a beauty! have fun πŸ™‚
Look up Foster the People or Fitz and the Tantrums! they will get you moving!
    xx

  46. Tiffany says:

How is it your hair can look so good even when not washed. If I don't wash my hair it looks super bad!!! Jealous…

  47. Melanie says:

LOVE Miranda Lambert's "Mama's Broken Heart" … I could probably listen to it on repeat.
Also, the hair is super cute!

  48. Erin says:
