Motherhood is hard, makeup doesn't have to be.
I simplify makeup for busy moms.

Debatably the best blog post ever written.

Yes girls, this happened.
I am still on cloud nine.
Let’s start at the beginning shall we? So if you have been reading recently you may have seen some appearances from new love interest, or as Jess calls him, my Mr. Big aka, Adam. Adam scores major points for making my dream come true, and for making me the happiest girl ever! I never in my life thought I would get to meet my girl, and idol, Carrie Underwood, but I DID!
Adam is in charge of sales for Lexington’s minor league baseball team. Well they have concerts at the baseball park all the time so LouLou asked if he ever got to meet the celebs, and he said yes! Then a light bulb went off, and I asked if he could arrange for us to meet Carrie. Knowing of my love for her, he made some calls, and made it happen.
We were out to lunch the day he got the text from his source that said “I’ll need both of your legal names, as Carries camp is very adement about knowing who is at Meet and Greet’s.” I swear I screamed and almost peed my pants. I was SO excited, but it still wasn’t for sure. Then one day, I think two Mondays ago, I got three calls from him in like 5 minutes and I knew something was up. Before I could call him back I got a text that said “Pack your bags babe, we are going to Evansville Indiana!” I was at work and SCREAMED and started jumping up and down because I knew EXACTLY what that meant. Melisa-Beth and Kami were still in the office with me and I know they think I am nuts, but i have never been more excited. Sorry girls! ha
So that is how this came to be. Now on to last night! I took a half day and we drove up to the lovely town of Evansville IN. {sarcasm font needed} Sorry girls, but I have a bone to pick with this town. I am sure I just had a uniquely unfortunate experience but I seriously found myself saying WTF Indiana like 10 times. But I don’t care where the concert was, I would have driven to Texas to meet her, and then Kristen could have come so all in all, a win win. Evansville actually ended up being a great place for the concert because the arena was so tiny and intimate. Perfect for optimal Carrie viewing.
I KNEW I would forget something, and I did. I forgot my Play On cd for her to sign. I forgot ALL of my makeup brushes. There was even a trip to the local Evansville Walmart, which ended up being a neighborhood market and having NEITHER of the things I needed. Bogus. But I figured if those were the only things I forgot life would be ok, at least it wasn’t like my jeans, or like one shoe… or even worse part of my weave! haha.
So I had to get ready using my fingers and qtips for makeup brushes. No kidding. It was tricky, but I did it. I looked at Adam and I said “You aint a LouLou if you can’t improvise!” And he looked at me and said “that is one of the things I just like about you so much” *smiles* I might be high maintenance, but I am the sweetest little diva ever, and would never pitch a fit about something so silly.
So we finally got ready, in record time might I ad, and headed to the arena to get our tickets and meet and greet passes!!! I was officially a nervous/excited mess. going over and over in my head what I wanted to say to her. This was the plan (thanks to y’alls help!!)
PinkLouLou: “Hi Carrie! Gosh it must be so exhausting always having people tell you that you look like me!”
Carrie: “Oh yeah wow we are twins, haha wanna be BFFS?”
PinkLouLou: “Of course! Really, it means so much to me to finally meet you, I am so glad this guy (points to Adam) could arrange all of this!”
Carrie: “Oh wow that is sweet, aren’t sweet boys great?”
PinkLouLou: “Yes they are! Speaking of sweet boys, you, Mike, Adam and I should double date, how about drinks after the concert?”
Carrie: “That is a great idea! Here is my number, my limo will pick you guys up out front!”
PinkLouLou: “Great, see you then! so nice to meet you!”
Unfortunately this did not take place.
I took the advice of my friend Catherine, how has met her idol Jsimps, and tried to be at the back of the line. a. to maximize time of me creepily getting to appreciate her gorgeousness from afar, and b. in hopes to have a longer conversation because no one is behind me. I was immediately awestruck at how gorgeous and TINY she is! When I finally got up to her, I walked up hugged her and said “Hi Carrie, my name is Allison, it is so nice to meet you! I got you a belated wedding gift.” And then I handed her the gift I wrapped for her, and then went silent. For about 30 seconds. Then she signed my planner (since I forgot the damn cd) and we took a pic and I said “It really is so nice to meet you, thank you so much.”
Ok, not genius or anything but at least I didn’t say anything too creepy, and i did not wet myself, or cry, so I am thinking that is a success.
We each were allowed to have one pic, and one thing signed. When sweet Adam got up to Carrie, he said “Hi Carrie, it is so nice to meet you, but this is really all for her” and then told me he wanted me in the pic with her. He also got her to sign a PinkLouLou biz card, and then he gave it to me to have. My heart melted just a little bit 😉
It was unbelievable to meet her. She is perfect. She is sweet, gorgeous, fun, and smelled great too! haha. Carrie if you are reading, what perfume were you wearing? {y’all know I totally plugged my blog} Sorry for making sure PinkLouLou biz cards were in her gift, along with a sweet note written on PinkLouLou stationary, with all of my website/contact info listed on the back. Creepy? No, just smart I think, I needed to make sure she could get ahold of me if she wanted to be BFF’s. Just efficient marketing in my book.
The concert was fantastic. This was the third time I have seen her live, and I am still blown away at her talent. Girl can freaking SING like I can’t believe. Seriously, she is an angel and I just love her. Did I mention row 8? AWESOME seats. I don’t think I stopped smiling all night. It was so fun having little girls come up to me in the bathroom/in line for drinks, and ask if I was Carrie, SO cute!
Here are some pics from the night…
Adam brought me a pink rose for Carrie day! *sweetie*

This is the ornament I gave to Carrie, for her and Mike’s first Christmas together! I blinged it of course 😉

I decided a card was my sure fire way to get her to remember me, explain the gift, and leave her with contact info if she wanted to hire me to be her stunt double, or just to be besties. Whatev. This is what the card said… I think it did the job. I have high hopes for an email… HA.
“Carrie,
It is such an honor to meet you! I just wanted to give you a little belated wedding gift! You and I got engaged within days of each other last year. My wedding never took place, but God have different plans for me!

Here is to wishing you and Mike a life full of love and happiness! You are an inspiration to me everyday.

And if you ever need blog design services, you email me! {websites are so 1995, Carrie Underood needs a fabulous blog!} 🙂

Just trying to “blend in”

Adam, I can’t even thank you enough. I never ever thought that this would actually happen, and the fact that you just snapped your fingers and voila dream come true it still just unbelievable. It means so much to me that making me smile is so important to you. Thank you for such a wonderful night. I am so happy I got to share this experience with you, the memories we made will last forever!
