Purple’s and Pretties

That is how I described what I wanted in my living room. LOL.

No but seriously, when I was thinking about how I wanted my house to feel and look, I found a bunch of inspiration online obvi, but I knew I definitely wanted a super feminine, yet sophisticated space. This is my first house, and it is going to be my late (cough cough) twenties girlie heaven. 😉

Everything is TOTALLY still a work in progress, I have some chairs and some lighting fixtures I cannot stand, but we are getting there one piece of pretty at a time.

This is the kitchen I wanted, and very very similar to the kitchen I got. Gas stove and all. Check. And I wanted my living room to be neutral grey’s and blacks, with pops of purple and silver girly things. Check check.

Every feminine space needs a mirrored piece of furniture of sorts right? Right. So Yesterday I scoured Craigs List and found this little beauty.

I was emailing with the seller and she goes “wait a minute, you are PinkLouLou?! I read your blog!” Haha. I died laughing, it was so sweet, and I thought YES this table is mine. Well turns out someone snagged said table before me. But the seller was so sweet. (hey girl!)  But I did find it on Overstock.com here 😉

I also DESPISE the lighting fixtures over my bar/island thingy in the kitchen. Needless to say they are not the ones I thought were going in there lol. Easy fix though in all honesty.

I think I have decided on these for the dining area and above the bar. Simple and clean with a touch of sparkle. And reasonably priced as well, thanks Overstock!

I also am in the market for a new couch. The one I have in the living room now works fine, it is one from my parents house and very nice, but it is just not exactly what I want for in there. I want something softer and more inviting. Add it to the list, lol.

It appears this home decorating thing is going to be a forever ongoing process 😉

HEEEEEEELP.

  1. Looks to me like you've gotten an asston done already! I love these pics! Everyone else's house pics are half what their husband wants. It's fun to see a whole space that's 100% YOU. Great job, Pink! 🙂

  3. Whitney says:

I haven't decorated mine and my hubby's house, because we rent. So much effort. However, I can't wait to decorate a house, when we purchase one!!

I've never been but I've heard of Lexington Overstock that just opened up that is supposed to have good stuff. I know it may seem weird, but Kroger Marketplace on Richmond Road has surprisingly good furniture. Gordmans also has tons and tons of home decor!

  4. So pretty! Target has lots of cuuuute mirrored furniture..I have these precious tables as nightstands on each side of my bed!
