Motherhood is hard, makeup doesn't have to be.
I simplify makeup for busy moms.

Hi, my name is PinkLouLou.

well hey there. This feels slightly odd. Blogging. HA.
No secret I have been a leeeeeetle bit MIA. Well… its been a crazy couple months people.
It all started (the stress fest that is) when I said to myself “you know what PLL… you should buy a house”. Little did I know how stressful THAT whole shebang would be. It was all well worth it in the end, because we are finally getting settled, and loving the new PLL palace.
Then came the holidays. And work. This past week I put in 54 hours… and that was having Monday AND Tuesday off. I digress.Busy season kids, I leave for Orlando next week for work… so no stopping yet.
Anyhoo, while things have been 100% loco land over here,  I finally have a second to catch my breath, so I wanted to say hi. I misses you!
I have been working on the house a bit when I can. Luckily I have Sadie and Bella to help me with all things home improvement.
And who knew spackle was pink? imagine my surprise when I discovered this fact 😉
I successfully hung some pictures AND two curtain rods. One on an actual window, and the other behind my bed… just for fun. It’s coming together, but very slowly.
I got that cute graphic gray and white rug at Garden Ridge for $100, in case any of you bargainistas need one too.
I need suggestions for fabric for these chairs. I haven’t found anything I like, and quite honestly I am not sure what to go with? The rug is so graphic itself, not sure if I want a printed fabric, ya know? All you  home decor divas, help a sister out and be my stylist sil vous plait.

And yes those ARE pug bookends you see on my mantle! from zgallerie, but I can’t find the specific link! How chic are these ladies?

I mean really, those are fantastic.

What else, what else…

With the new house came some new neighbors, whom I quite fancy.
Bar nights with neighbors turn into 6 am dance party in my kitchen, because we are 21. 😉
New Years was spent with some friends. Nothing crazy, but fun nonetheless!
And yes I did steal Chrissy’s white blazer from above. We recycle. 😉

(ps hey Whitney! So good seeing you!)OH. And remember how I said we were on family feud? Well I was beginning to think myself that I made it up, until I got this proof from the show! You may want to stay tuned on January 28 (cough cough) if you want to see me embarrass the bejeezus out of myself on national television.Ha, I just realized you can see the scores at the commercial break in the pic above. I DO think we managed to score some points… at some point? I don’t know I blacked out. 😉

That’s all I got right now kids. I am sorry I have been such a sucky blogger, but sometimes life just gets in the way. I am excited for things to slow down and get back to normal! I miss you girls!!
Pug and LouLou out.

xoxo

  1. Glad you're back! Can totally understand the craziness of moving and redoing a house, it's a TON of work! Hope you get some down time while you're in FL!

  4. Kerri says:

I love the curtain behind your bed! I have a huge blank space I'm not sure what to do with behind it and it was the perfect inspiration. Your house is turning out to be precious! Hopefully things will calm down soon for you sweet girl! We miss you around the blog world!

  5. Jenna says:

Just happy to be reading blog entry missed you!!!

  6. Welcome back gurlie! The house pics are gorgeous! You're doing a great job 🙂

As for the fabric on the chairs, I'd go with a basic taupe since there's already so much going on in the space (loving the purple btw)or you could go with a design like the one in this links:

    http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Ethan-Home-Decor-Cube-Print-Accent-Lounge-Chair/4265381/product.html or http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Sunflower-Deco-Accent-Chair/5942751/product.html

P.S. You're coming to Orlando?! This girl would love to meet for a drink if you have time! There are a lot of fun non-touristy spots around. Let me know!

  7. Kellie N says:

So glad you're back! Love the colors in your room. What about black and white pinstripe fabric? Or you could pull in some dark grey….happy decorating!

  8. Pleaseeee tell me we're still going to have play time when you're here!? 🙂

  9. SO glad to see you back! I hope life chills out (the work part at least!) so you can get back to our little bloggin world! And wowww.. lucky you to have such good looking neighbors.. could one perhaps end up being mr.pink lou lou? hehe

  10. Sam says:

Look who's backkkk!! Pink spackle just make things so much more fun, doesn't it? Until it dries white that is! I would totally check out ikea for chairs – they always have cute and affordable options. It's worth the road trip! Love garden ridge for accessories – the rug looks amaze!

  11. P!nky says:

LOVE the curtain, you iz so smartz!

So glad your house is coming together, I am totally blown away you bought a house. You are so grown up and I'm a lil envious!

Glad to see you around the blog world, we've missed our loulou and her perfect poofs!

    xoxo

  12. Sami says:

PLL? I remember her! Glad to hear you're doing well and your princess palace is looking gorgeous! Love the curtain behind your bed.. I am inspired to do that mysefl! Can't wait to see your pretty face around here more often 🙂

  13. Allison says:

  14. ahhh…i just about peed my pants 🙂 hehe. your new pad looks amazzzzzzing! i gots to come see soon! so glad you are getting back into the blog world. i love my pll fix 🙂 🙂 🙂 ps: i saw some good news about baby sis on facebook. how exciting?!?! i better see you again soon missy. mwwwwwaaaaah!!!

  15. Melissa says:

That curtain behind the bed is a great idea.
I can't believe you were on the Feud! That's awesome.

  16. Glad your semi back! For the chairs I would go with a matte black with like a simple shiny print on it? Or a purple velvet? Is that tacky? Have I been watching to many NJ reality shows? :):)

  17. The curtain behind your bed is brilliant! Definitely something I should consider to make my teeny tiny room look bigger!
    Thanks for the inspiration!

  18. What is this Garden Ridge place and how do I get to one!? Charleston needs something like this because I really, really need your rug!

House is looking awesome. And a blogging break does the body good every once in a while. But glad to have you back! 🙂

  19. Kristen says:

Um if I had a Garden Ridge, or could use a rug, I'd go get that one stat. 🙂

For the pillows, I think it would be ok to match prints. I think stripes or chevron could work, or even another print, so long as their coordinate with the color scheme you have. And since your chairs are dark, I'd get lighter colored pillows so they'd pop more and brighten the room up. Taupe or cream is always safe, but you could do a different color too. I don't know if you have any accent colors in the room you're doing or wanting to do, but I'd think a tiffany blue would look great with your walls, like your book on your mantle.

  20. Brittany Lea says:

So excited to a post from you! Always miss ya when I don't get enough Pink Lou Lou! I hope you get some chill time soon 🙂 xo

  21. Lauren says:

Can't wait to see the show! You did a fabulous job, I am sure!

  22. Liz Quigley says:

hey girl! glad youre back. totally get the whole "feeling embarassed to watch yourself on tv" thing i was just on wheel of fortune and can totally relate 🙂

    love the new pad!

  23. melissa says:

You'll be in Orlando? Sister, we need to talk! Even if a quick meet up is not in the cards, I'm happy to recommend good eats/shopping/drinks!

  24. Ashley says:

LOVE the room!! It looks amazing! Looks like you have been having fun in the midst of a crazy busy life too, cannot wait for you to return to blogging more!!!

  25. Janna says:

You'll be in my neck of the woods! If you need any recommendations while in Orlando- feel free to ask! 🙂

  26. Your new house is TO DIE FOR.
    SO jealous! 😉

Totally tuning in on the 28th.
    You're a doll!

  27. Brooke says:

Maybe just cover the chairs with a cute solid color slip cover?!

Nice to see you back on your blog!

    =) Brooke

  28. Yay – your alive!!! 🙂 The house is looking adorable! I think the chairs would be super cute with a floral pattern…but you would have to find the right one to match the rug but I think it would be adorbs!

FINALLY the FF episode!!! That score cracks me up!

  29. Jill says:

Pink spackle, whoop whoop! 😛 Love it. I've eyeballed that same rug at Garden Ridge recently! However I was by myself and in TJ's car that day (vs. my vehicle) so I knew I couldn't get it home! I've not forgotten about it though…hehe 🙂 Can't wait to see a home tour AND your epi of Family Feud!

  30. Love the idea of doing the curtain rod behind the bed…smart! Looks like you are doing a great job decorating!!

  31. Brooke says:

I've missed you. I'm so glad you are back. xoxo Your house looks beautiful!

  32. Rachel says:

    Setting my DVR now. 😉
So glad to read this update! It looks like the palace is coming along beautifully!
TBH I kinda like the chairs the way they are! If anything, maybe a khaki colored cover to keep them neutral? I love the black, purple, and silver color scheme!
I have been addicted to houzz.com lately trying to decorate our new apartment!

  33. Kate says:

You're coming to Orlandoooo? Woohoo! When will you be here?

On a side note: I'm obsessed with that grey and white rug! Gorgeous!

  34. Corin says:

    ^^ Seconding Kate's comment! YAYYYY Orlando! 😀

  35. Carolyn R says:

Welcome back!! 🙂 The house looks so cute! I honestly like the chairs the way they are!!!

  38. Christine says:

You have to tell me the color of that purple wall!

  39. Becky says:

    Fireplace in your bedroom??! Jealous!
Also, need those bookends….but wienerdogs for my shelves, please 🙂

Glad to see you popup on my feed again!

  40. Love your updates!

So, I have a fun idea for the chairs. What about a white faux pebbled leather? Here is a fun one that has an ostrich look: http://www.fabric.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=a76739a6-1103-424c-923e-8534211ab868

It would look very "Hollywood Regency" which I think would go along awesome with your prints, rug, and white painted fireplace!

  41. One other fun fabric: http://www.fabric.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=71709c05-df04-4598-8045-563dbcff7c6f

I love fabric.com — used them for my wedding fabric to make table runners, and you get free shipping!

  42. Day Old News says:

Hey doll! Happy New Year and don't work too hard this week. Room is looking good!

  43. faithspage says:

    Cute cute cute house!
My idea for the chairs, keep the fabric. Add white pillows, with a design, monogram, or picture on them. Would look great with the white in the bookends, fireplace, and frame.

  44. shay says:

Doesn't it stink when real life gets in the way of blogging?! i've had that happen way too many times. but glad you're back and can't wait to hear about more of your life in LouLou Land!

  45. Glad I'm not the only one! I haven't blogged in ages… awful, I know. Your room looks so cute by the way!

  46. ty says:

I love the color of your living room walls. OBSESSED.

  47. Sarah says:

Glad you are back pretty lady!! LOVE the rug! I would do a neutral color on the chairs and then add some pop with some really fun and bright pillows on them!

  48. Kenzie Smith says:

Glad you are back! Dang girl, sounds like you are/have been super busy!! I am definitely going to have to check out that episode of Family Feud. Love all the pictures-you look gorgeous!
    xoxo
