Diet and Exercise. Wait… WHAT?

When I put my mind to something, I usually do it. Right now that something happens to be getting in tip top shape for my friend Ashley’s wedding in June. We are wearing these gorgeous blush colored, super flowing dresses, and lets just say it will look a LOT better on yours truly if I could just step on the scale, write that number down, subtract fifteen, and then weigh that.
 {5 points if you know that movie!}
So yes, I am watching what I eat, and I am flirting with the idea of getting back in the gym, and pure barre. 😉
I am a weight watchers girl at heart.

WHY? Because it is easy, and it works for me. Follow me here, I find it provides structure AND flexibility.
So what is on my must haves list? I am sort of a creature of habit, It’s my thing, let it go. I also don’t have a lot of time, so quick and easy options are what I lean towards.
I LOVE yoplait light yogurt, specifically white chocolate strawberry, but any in the family of strawberry will do. Pair that with a 100 calorie english muffin, boom, breakfast.
Lunch and dinner I have been eating lean cuisines, with a salad, or chicken with fresh veggies. Sometimes I will get Subway or Jimmy Johns. GUILTY. 😉
{sidenote, I am aware that there are tons of preservatives in frozen foods, but hey, they are easy. If you wanna come cook me fresh organic meals, be my guest. I promise I will welcome it}
For snacks, I eat a lot of fresh fruit. Oh yeah and I am addicted to the skinny cow candies. Ummm, hello heaven.
And then, because I just can’t let it go… I have to have mac n cheese, or spaghettio’s once a week. Preferably in these shapes.
I have also been drinking mucho water. Let’s get serious, diet coke ain’t exactly beauty elixir knowwhatimsayin? I also am cutting down the cocktail cals but sticking with my signature, vodka and soda. Mmmmm.
Throw in a lime or two and you have one happy PLL
As far as working out goes, well, I need to do that.
This has been circulating around Pinterest:
Well hey there, Carrie, damn glad to meet ya.
Maybe once I master these moves I’ll have legs like this, no?
; ) Anyhoo, I’ll keep ya posted on le progress.

You go girl!! I too, am a Weight Watcher girl at heart. I've lost about 20 lbs with it this time around and feel SO much better. I'll have to check out Carrie's leg workout. If I had her legs I'd wear daisy dukes in the dead of winter.

  2. Love this post! I am doing the same thing! So glad weight watchers is free online right now! And your food guide gave me some helpful ideas!
And if only I could have Carrie's legs!

Good luck with your new plan!

  4. Awesome.. I LOVE WW too.. It is really my thing.. I do Zumba.. Pure Barre is literally too hard core for me. haha…

  5. You are so teeny that I can't imagine you need to lose more than half a dang pound. Nevertheless, I totally understand this desire. I'm on a similar train . . . only I'm not being quite as careful with what I eat. I have been running, though, which is a big deal for me.

    What I would give to have Carrie's legs . . . OMG.

Also good & low calorie: veggie soups! You can make them and keep them for a whole week. I often make minestrone, or 3 bean chili, or butternut squash soup. They are all super low calorie and yummy!

  6. Heather says:

i've treid to do weight watchers lately! i haven't had a lot of luck… but i know its b/c i've secretly been sneaking stuff and not tracking it. i've got to get better at it. i can easily let my hunger get the best of me.

  7. I definitely need to get my booty in gear and start doing these things too.

  8. Courtney says:

Ok so Knocked Up love that movie!

I do 100 cal english muffin with a small round turkey sausage. Yum! I usually eat yogurt with lunch!

Also, totally feel ya on the mac n cheese! I firmly believe that the shapes taste better than the regular. Lately I have been getting Annie's white cheddar. Omgosh it's to die for.

I've been thinking of joining Weight Watchers online so if I do I know who to come to with questions 😉

  14. The Bases says:

I have lost 20 lbs twice on WW! It works! I need to get back to tracking as well. I love that you can eat whatever you want, you just have to track it! Good for you!!

  15. safire says:

Best of luck with your goals! I think you look fantastic right now.

I'm in the same boat and want to get fit too by summer.

  16. Tiffany says:

I, too, am on a get fit for a bridesmaid dress kick! I've got 3 of them to wear this year, so yea…it's time to get serious. 🙂

My gym does spin classes that I've been doing for three weeks and loving, but they also have barre classes—I think I'll try them if you like them!

First off, Knocked Up…and 5 points for YOU for quoting one of my favorite movies that I watch every single time it's on TV!!

I often blog about fitness (usually on Fridays but last week it was Sunday…random) so come on over & check out the situation if you so desire 🙂

In any event…good luck, you'll look fab no matter what the scale says! xoxo

  23. Ashley says:

I started Weight Watchers about a month ago. I freaking love it. I wasn't so sure about it until I lost 3lbs in my second week without even working out. Now that it's been a month I'm ready to kick it up and start hitting the gym. Can't wait to be looking good for swimsuit season

  24. ALWAYS have to have fun shaped Mac n Cheese I don't know why but it makes it taste SOOOOOOOOOOO much different!

  25. I'm so happy to hear I'm not the only adult who loves Spaghetttios! Any chance you can make me feel better about my Pizza Rolls obsession too?

  26. Jaclyn Kaye says:

Knocked Up… OBVI 🙂 Love it! And you go girl!

  27. Monica says:

Good luck! I love the structure that WW provides 🙂

  28. Thank you so much for posting Carrie's leg workouts! I can keep up with the exercising part, but I am always an epic fail when it comes to dieting. I admire you for being able to stick to it. But in all honesty you look fab already girlie ;0)

    http://peridotkutie.blogspot.com/

  29. Michelle says:

Knocked up of course! I love love love that movie!!! WW is great, it really hels you learn portion control and that you really can have everything you want, maybe just not a whole pint of Ben &Jerrys icecream 🙂

  30. Tiffany says:

Go you!!! I am terrible at dieting. I love to work out though…but if I don't have someone with me it's not happening! (loser I know) Let me know about Carrie's legs….id kill for those

  31. Angel says:

I am 5 too don't worry! those are two of my must haves! I love any kind of strawberry yogurt.

  32. Elizabeth says:

    Knocked Up!

Have you ever tried protein smoothies for breakfast? I've been eating a banana and an english muffin with a teeny bit of peanut butter for years and my personal trainer nipped that in the bud – and I've had huge success so far (I stay full longer and it kind of reminds me of a milkshake so I don't crave sweet things.)

I am adding that leg workout on my leg days at the gym starting tomorrow. I want Carrie's legs by my wedding.

  33. Lesley says:

Nothing like a wedding to put your butt in gear! Good luck!!

  34. I've seriously been thinking about joining weight watchers lately – I'm not sure what to process is of signing up but I'm eventually going to look into it! I like your plan – menu – lifestyle, whatever! With a menu like that, you're definitely on your way to losing the unwanted pounds. Keep it up. Lovin' this post!

  35. Love Lace says:

Good luck with your new plan! Can't wait to read how it's going for you..esp. the exercise part. I'm terrible at being motivated to work out.

  36. Jessica says:

Im currently doing the same thing! I am also a creature of habbit and found that the strawberry and apple cinnimon nutri-grain bars are yummy and are great for a snack or breakfast on the go!!

  37. good for you! i like the skinny cow stuff too.

  38. Amber says:

You've inspired me to be more mindful and KEEP WITH my diet plans! I have a little over a month till I'm on a cruise to Mexico and want to look and feel confident in a swimsuit for 7 days! Does it cost money to do WW? Or do you use a special website?

  39. L.Voss says:

I have been on weight watchers now for a few months and I feel that its the greatest decision I have ever made.

good luck on your journey sweetie!

  40. Good luck!! I love Lean Cuisines, too. Especially the flatbread ones …mmm! I also am a huge fan of the dreamy clusters. I'm trying to cut back on the yummy foods, too, and it's not fun. Even though you look amazing as it is, I know you can do this! Xo.

  41. Jessica says:

Happy to know I"m not the only 20 something who still loves shapes mac n cheese and spaghettios! Good luck, I'm having a hard time getting back in the gym myself so hopefully your progress will inspire me!

    Jess

  42. Okay, I am seriously interested in weight watchers now. Has anyone had any luck with the online program? I was looking at plans and it seems to be the much cheaper option, not to mention I probably wouldn't enjoy in-person meetings.

I find it awesome that you are starting a new plan. It is definitely inspiring me to make my own adjustments. 🙂

  43. morganegrant says:

Freeze your grapes..they are SO delish & taste like candy! Promise! 🙂

  44. I've been trying to get into pre-baby shape by my birthday ( a little less then 2 months!)so I have been trying to do the same thing.

I think lean cuisines are awesome!! Like you said they are easy and when you are starving you just have to pop it in the microwave and wait for the "ding!" I've been replicating the Brio chopped salad with lowfat cheese and lowfat dressing on the side too! Super easy, just prep everything at the beginning of the week! 🙂

Good luck with your weight loss goals! 🙂

  45. mrsj says:

Don't know why Mac and Cheese always tastes better in cartoon shapes…. it just does!

  46. CLP says:

Good for you! It can be soo hard, I know because I'm trying to lose about 5lbs for my wedding in May. I like WW too. I usually go for the sugar free Jello chocolate pudding cups (2pts) and low fat string cheese (I feel like I'm in elementary school when I eat this) or the laughing cow light cheese wedges. Also, if you ever join a gym that has Body Pump classes, I highly reccomend them. Their hard at first but I swear if you do just 2 classes a week, you'll notice a diffence in your jeans by the weekend.

  47. Good luck! More water is definitely the way to go. I'm a weight loss nutritionist and I always tell my patients to drink as much water as they think they possibly can, and then a little bit more!

  48. Get it girl! Cant wait to read on the progress, I've always wondered about weight watchers, but really dont wanna pay the fee and all for all the supplies. Im with you on the frozen meals – they are SOOOOO easy peasy. Especially when your starving and need something in 3 minutes 🙂

  49. Hey gurl! I lost 30 lbs. on WW last year! it's been the only thing that ever worked for me (cuz I too am a Mac n' Cheese junkie). Good luck to you. Although you'll look lovely no matter what 🙂 xoxo Liz-a-Licious

  50. Ashley says:

Toasted English Muffins with a bit of extra creamy PB is one of my FAVORITE snacks! Nice little protein burst, too 🙂

  51. Been thinking of doing this when baby arrives to help lose the weight I put on. Granted it is only 10lbs. I will need help. Keep us updated on your progress.

    xo

  52. Alexandra says:

Umm, can I just say I LOVE this post. I'm glad I am not the only one buying character mac and cheese and not feeding it to children!

Keep us updated on how this goes! I need to get my fitness on too!

Good luck with your goal! You can do it!

  53. KAH says:

OMG-apparently we're on the same plan! I'm getting married in November and am determined to look good! Lean Cuisines are my go to for lunch-so easy! I try to eat super healthy and "clean" at dinner to balance out the preservatives from the LC. Now if only I could get to the gym….

  54. I'm on the same schedule as you! I have my own wedding in June and I'm trying to have will power! I also love mac & cheese and have a major sweet tooth. How have I NEVER heard of these skinny cow candies? That JUST got added to my shopping list!! Good luck! You'll do great!

  55. Kodie says:

The Lean Cuisine meals are delicious! They're really stepped up their game with them and they are so much yummier than they used to be. I tried one of the bag ones last night that you put in the microwave (like the steamers I think they're called) and it honestly tasted like something from a restaurant! The pizza is so good too.

And do you enter the codes online for points? If you eat them as often as I do you can accumulate quite a bit of points and exchange them for things. They have some handy kitchen things and cute lunch boxes.

  56. bibliobeauty says:

am super intrigued by the lean cuisine pasta romano with bacon. is that one yummy?

  57. Chelsie says:

Can I just say that I'm so glad to be in good company!! I love spaghettios!!! I also have to have them on a regular basis.

  58. kaitlyn. says:

I really desperately need to start eating breakfast so I have fuel to make it through my runs…this post helped a ton! I love english muffins, so starting the day with one with PB would give me the fuel I need. And I hear you about the LC's…when you are trying to cook a healthy meal for one they are just TOO easy to pass up!

  59. I had to overhaul my diet 4 weeks ago. I cut dairy out of my diet entirely. I eat almost the same thing from breakfast and lunch every single day. I've definitely had to replace some foods with fruits and veggies.
