Yep. There I was walking in a nice restaurant in Lexington when my heel broke. The heel to the fab shoes I have been sporting and loving. Sure they are from Forever 21, and cost about $20 but I expected at least to get a few wears out of them?! Is that too much to ask? I barely avoided face planting into a party of 20, and caught myself on the waiter instead.
Luckily I was in the presence of an engineer who tried his darndest to fix said shoe with a a little manly handy work, however, yours truly ended up solving the problem on her own. She is pretty handy when left to her own clever devices. 😉
Attempt #1 – fail.
Attempt #2 – success.
That is right ladies, I spent the evening with a jank duct taped shoe. Thank heavens I was in long jeans, so you couldn’t even tell, and so what if I walked a little funny. At least I handled the situation with grace and laughed it off.
Has anyone else had this problem with a F21 pair of heels? I was so heartbroken the next day, when I fully realized my new lovelies were headed for the trash.

ohmygosh, you crack me up. GENIUS! I love F21, but have never purchased any shoes from there, and after reading this, maybe I shouldn't? However if I ever do, and the heel happens to break off, NOW I know how to quick fix it! 🙂

Just a little tip they actually make zebra and leopard print duct tape at Target now!!!! yes mam thats right! So maybe you should carry some of that in your purse for (hopeuflly not but you never know) should this happen again, you can even have stylish duct tape!!!!! 🙂 bahaha XO
If you only wore them once I would try to return them! That's horrible but at least you handled it well!!!
Haha oh my dear bless your heart. This happened to me in college with my tried and true peep toe black heels. I was a bit tips and thought there was a hole under the carpet and had my friend stomp there and then she goes "Kate it's your shoe". Not okay!
Oh my goodness this is so hilarious! What an awful situation though, where your shoe breaks and you're trying not to fall. I went to F21 in Dublin and bought a pair of gorgeous boots – fingers crossed the same thing doesn't happen!
Oh my goodness this is hilarious!! The EXACT same thing happened my sister when she was out dancing her little butt off over the weekend. Craziness.

Haha! Love your janked up shoes! That happened to me at work one day. I hobbled all the way to the car at the end of the day. Not my proudest moment.
picture it… NYE… ringing in 2009… forever 21 boot heel breaks… but not totally off. Oh no it hung on for dear life. However, boyfriend's bf thought it was totally off and proceeded to "pick it up" aka picking up my whole leg until my toes were at my chest…. not a good idea especially when mixed with alcohol.
I am very impressed with your skill though!

HAHAHA!! Ok, so I know that it was not that funny at the time and you were probably frustrated. Great job of fixing it! I actually had this happen a couple of years ago. Not fun.

Haha, I've totally done this in a pair of Charlotte Russe shoes. Wahhwahhh. Nice call on the duct tape, though. I just looked like a moron hobbling all night!
I've never bought forever 21 heels but I did get some sandals from there that I loved! Unfortunately one strap broke and a flower fell off after only wearing it like 2 times 🙁
That stinks! I would be so mad. If I were you I would go back in there and tell them what happened. At the very least you could prob get a new pair…or your $20 back. I know it's not millions, but I HATE wasting money.

Oh my gosh that is hilarious!! That is my biggest fear in life. My favorite pair of forever21 shoes have a wobbly heel and I'm hoping that does not mean they are down the same path as yours! Thanks for the heads up though 🙂 Might have to start carrying around duct tape when I wear them now!

I'm so sorry that happened to you! It's happened to me before and I always have a fear when going out in a killer pair of heels that it'll happen again. I subconsciously want to keep a pair of backup shoes with me at all times, but where would I keep them? lol

Who does this happen to? Oh, let me tell you … this kind of shiz happens to me on the reg. STORY OF MY LIFE. Seriously. Love the ghetto rig you did to it, that's great except my fat ass would have ripped that duct tape in half the second I tried to put my weight on that poor stiletto. HA! Totally not joking.
