Motherhood is hard, makeup doesn't have to be.
I simplify makeup for busy moms.

Sadie had a bad day…

I am dying to share pics from CATlanta with you, but that is gonna have to wait-because I gotta tell you about Sadie.
Friday morning Kevin (my parents dog, and yes seriously his name) peed on Sadie. No lie. Funniest shizz I have ever seen. So I had to give her a bath. how sad does she look in this picture? She’s about to cry.
So after the bath incident, I headed to ATL. I was getting my drink on, and cheering on the CATS when I got a call from my mom. Holy bejeezus cue the tears. Sadie was in emergency surgery because she ate an entire bag of m&ms, an entire bag of hershey kisses (with the wrappers), and a blow pop. Seriously? WTF Sadie, I know you are on a green bean diet, and it is hard to go through life without chocolate, but GIRLFRIEND. Mom assured me she would be fine, but of course I didn’t believe her. As the night went on, the more and more convinced I became that my child had actually passed-and no one would tell me.
Turns out she is doing well 🙂 thank goodness! To say I was worried would be an understatement. She is sporting a new vest to keep her from messing with the staples on her stomach. Bless her heart! I can’t wait to get home and see her!

More on CATlanta later.

Aw poor baby so cute after her bath. My parents dog threw up on mine yesterday and he was freaking out haha. Thank goodness she is ok and her surgery went well 🙂

  2. Miss Lace says:

Holy moly can't believe she ate that much! Sadie looks like she reacts to bath much better that our pug Rocco, he FREAKS out!

  3. Gina says:

So relieved she is okay. I'd have sworn my dog died and my mom wasn't telling me so my trip wasn't ruined too. Glad that wasn't the case!

  4. Shasta Anne says:

SADIE BELLE! I cannot even imagine how sacred you were! Talk about the ultimate buzz kill. I made my kids read this post because you know that Easter is coming and I needed them to be paranoid about where they are going to leave their cadbury eggs.

Four years ago Mr. Moo had to sit in the car while I took the kids into the salon to get their hair trimmed for the holidays. While he was locked in ma grocery hauler he ate Savanna's gingerbread house that she made at school and the plastic bag that it was in. $2200k vet bill for emergency surgery, three days before Christmas!

I'm so sorry to hear that Lady Talulah Belle's pug cousin had to step to such drastic measures to get that tummy tuck that she has been begging you for! hmmmmm

Hope she has a speedy recovery!

    xoxo-
    Shasta

  5. Cait says:

I can't believe she ate all of that!!! – my parents dog did something like that once.. and they had to take her into emergency surgery too.. ridic. Guess they can't go without chocolate in their lives either. Hope your having a fab time in CATlanta 😀 xoxo

  7. Sara L. says:

Aw my gosh that face looks so sad, but cute all bundled up! What a funny story 🙂

  8. Ooo poor Sadie! I completely understand having just one piece of chocolate isn't enough 🙂 She looks so cute and sad at the same time after her bath! She is adorable!

  9. Poor Sadie! Glad your baby girl is okay!

  10. Manda says:

  16. AbbyS. says:

Poor Sadie Girl!! So glad she is okay and GOOOOOOOO CATS!! 🙂

  17. Raven says:

Ok, so should I laugh or cry?? I guess the ONLY reason I can get a laugh out of it is because Sadie is going to be just fine, otherwise I wouldn't laugh, promise. It's just that the pictures you posted on here of her and SO precious and too too cute, however I completely understand your getting emotional getting a call like that — our doggies are our babies!! Glad she is going to be ok 🙂

  18. Oh my goodness! I'm glad to hear she is alright!

  19. Mandy says:

So glad she is ok, that sassy girl!

  20. Chrissi says:

Girl, I can totally relate! A few years ago I went out of town to visit my sister in Chicago and I get a call from hubby that he was at the after hours pet ER because my cat was acting like he was about to die. I started fretting because this was my furbaby and there was nothing that I could do! My cat ended up having kidney stones, got pain meds, and was good to go… and I think that I got PTSD as a result. It's not fair when our pets get sick/hospitalized, especially when we're not there to take care of them! Glad Miss Sadie is ok!

  21. Adrienne says:

Awww poor Sadie! She certianly had a rough weekend, I hope she is feeling better now!

And SO excited about the CATS win today!! YAY! 🙂

  22. Oh, no! I am SO glad that she's ok!

  23. * Jessica * says:

Glad to hear Sadie-belle is okay! I can totally relate…four days before Christmas Chloe got really sick and ended up having emergency exploratory surgery. Turns out that despite all the commericals you see, yarn is NOT okay for cats to play with! She had eaten about two feet of yarn and it was sawing away at her stomach and bowels. Dr. said she would have died within a day or so had we not done the surgery! I'm so thankful everything turned out okay and I've got my baby! 'Course I'm STILL paying for that surgery! The things we do for our babies! 😉

  24. Jenna E says:

She is soooo adorable, makes my heart melt

  25. Oh, Sadie Belle!! Bless her sweet little heart! I'm glad to hear she is doing well! I'll keep her and YOU in my prayers! 🙂

One time, my Lilah got into my medicine cabinet while I was at school…she ate toothpaste, about 6 tablets of Sudafed, and about 5 pills of 500mg TYLENOL! The vet said that's the worse thing she could have had because it causes kidney failure.

When I got home and seen her running and literally catapulting off the walls, I knew something was wrong. Then… I see my medicine basket spread out over my bathroom and bedroom. Long story short, she has her stomach pumped and blood tested, etc…and made it. Still going strong. And, I'm the one still trying to recover. bahaha.

2 weeks after that medicine incident, she ate half a box of stale Famous Amos cookies…I was a terrible young mother. hahaha. I have to say I've been much more responsible since, but how did I know she was going to learn how to open a bathroom cabinet and open a trash can?? :))

  26. Samantha says:

OMGG Poor Sadie! I wont have been hysterical if that would have been one of my pups! Im glad she is okay now!

    xo

  27. CMae says:

I read your twitter comment about it and felt really bad for her and you!!! I didn't realize you had your parents so close to watch her for you (hence why I tweeted asking if you could just take her with you when you travel) Where was all those loot of candy hiding in your parents house that tempted that furry one to eat it!?! I'm glad she's feeling better and that def has to be the saddest photo of her that you have ever posted!

  28. Brown Girl says:

That's what green beans will do to you huh? And I thought my husband was just joking… 😉

  29. Mrs. Wasp says:

Oh goodness! I wish I had known, if you have her drink some hydrogen peroxide, you could have had her throw it all up versus having surgery! A little trick I learned from my smartie pants brother {he's a vet} and his puganese Eloise is a fat girl who's been known to eat the mnms!

  30. maNda says:

omg i would have died if i heard pepper (my dog) had eaten all of that! glad she is going to be okay!

  31. Cassie says:

Poor Sadie! I'm terrified to leave my dogs and go out of town because I keep thinking something bad will happen. I'm glad she's gonna be okay!

  32. Tiffany says:

Oh my gosh….talk about rebelling from green beans by eating all of the candy in sight! I'll have to be careful when Lent ends that I don't do the same thing. 🙂 I'm SO glad that she is okay!

  33. Sassy says:

Oh my WORD, that pug child is TROUBLE! Her face is truly priceless in that first picture…bahahaha. I'm SO glad she was able to get into surgery so fast and she's going to be ok. I'm sure that gave you SUCH a scare. So sorry your Cats lost. 🙁 So did my Dores, boohoo, but that was to be expected. 😛

  34. Leah says:

Poor Sadie! My little one goes in for surgery in the morning and I am a mess! Glad to see she's doing well!

  35. Lindsey says:

Oh my goodness, NO!!!! My dog growing up, Widget (RIP), once ate my acne medicine and a disposable razor. He didn't have to have surgery, though. How scary! Glad she is doing OK, I can only imagine the scare. Happy Sunday, I'm still recovering from my shenanigans yesterday. Dallas St. Pattys Day parade + block party = unreal.

  36. Heather says:

Oh my gosh! My baby ate an entire bag of chocolate chip cookies once. He was on an IV for a week. I'm so glad yours is okay!

  37. Beth says:

Poor Sadie! Hope she has a speedy recovery. I know you're glad to be home, nothing worse than being away when your kids are sick.

  38. Kelsey says:

omg! I can see you reacting now! Glad that she is doing well. She is lucky to have such a concerned mother!

  39. Frankie has eaten prescription fever blister medicine, hannah montanna pink glitter hair extension, raisins, ugh you name it. cost me a dang fortune but he is still here, thank goodness or I would be in a white padded room somewhere 🙁 so i know how you feel. Glad she is doing better!!

  40. Good grief what a scary call to get! Glad everything is okay and I hope you had fun in ATL this weekend. You couldn't have picked a better weekend as far as the weather is concerned!

  41. Katie says:

Too bad I couldn't get emergency surgery this weekend it would have helped with the new pounds I'm currently packing on my hips/ass from the 329 girl scout cookies I ate!! haha but in all seriousness, SADIE!!! She really went for the gold there. I'm so glad she is OK..I can only imagine how sad/scared you were!

  42. Bless her heart! I'd hate to live without chocolate also, so I totally understand where she's coming from!

  43. Laura says:

I'm so glad to hear she is doing okay. I have a pug (Frank) and he will eat anything and everything. Shoes, Remotes, Carrots, Plastic it doesn't matter if he can get it in his mouth he is going to eat it.

  44. Poor Sadie! I have a chihuahua named Sadie and everyone jokes that she must have nine lives! I'm glad your Sadie is doing okay! I know you must of been so worried!!

  45. Oh my goodness! Bless her heart–poor girl! That vest is KILLING me! I would be a total mess myself if I got a phone call telling me my child was in emergency surgery–so glad she's ok!

  46. Mommy Webb says:

Poor Sadie. I feel your pain, Sadie girl. Sometimes I want to binge on entire bags of candy as well:). Mommy J, I hate that you got the news during a time when you were having so much fun, but I am glad that she is doing well. That picture of her after the bath is presh.

  47. Day Old News says:

Holy cow, that is a LOT of candy for a little girl. My Rottweiler did that once, but then felt guilty about the calories so she left me a rainbow surprise all over the bathroom floor. There is also one dog at the dog park who when he tries to smoosh Cholula, she just sits down to avoid doing the dirty & he will always try to pee on her as punishment. Ruuude! Glad the pooch is ok in the end!

  48. Oh my goodness I would be a friggin mess too! I'm glad she's okay.. Every girl needs chocolate I guess? 🙂

  49. Mighty Burns says:

ok the first part and picture was extremly sad and funny! Id want to cry if someone peed on me too! DUDE!
The second part oh so scary! ugh I hate when your animals get hurt.. I am so glad though that she is doing better 🙂 she looks good in Blue

  50. Tarryn says:

Oh my gosh poor puppy!!! I'm glad she is doing okay!!

  51. S says:

Oh my – that girl likes her some chocolate! I am so sorry she had to have surgery and will hope for a speedy recovery!

  52. Katie says:

Aww…poor SADIE!! I'm glad she survived. I can't believe she ate ALL THAT FOOD!!!

    XO, Katie
    Running On Happiness

  53. Phoebe Jan says:

I ABSOLUTELY love that picture of her after her bath! She is so cute!! She looks so sad but oh so cute! I'm so glad she's ok! =)

  54. Valerie says:

Awwwww poor Sadie! Chocolate can kill a dog! Thank goodnes she is going to be ok :o)

  55. Shalyn says:

Poor little baby cakes!!! My dogs did that with cookies once, and they both ate ibuoprofen! I know how you feel (felt!)!! I am so sorry! I'm SO glad your precious little muffin is going okay though! Especially after all that food! That's amazinggg!!! 🙂

  56. Catherine says:

The picture of Sadie in the tub is my absolute fav! Loves it! Glad she is ok 🙂

  57. Alex says:

OMG! So sad! My dog has eaten a chocolate chip cookie before and I stalked the sh*t out of him for at least a day… I can't imagine how you felt, especially being away! Glad she is okay!

    xoxo

  58. Dana says:

I just read this aloud to my hubby and we laughed! Hilarious (only bc she is okay)! Our dog ate a whole plate of no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookies over Christmas. No surgery, thank God! Glad to see you had fun in our neck of the woods – Atlanta is fun!

  59. OMG! She looks absurdly cute in her post-bath picture. I mean seriously. And what a little mischief maker for eating all that chocolate . . . though can you blame her, since she'd just been peed on by a boy named Kevin?
