I had someone reach out to me this week to ask for suggestions on dresses to wear to your baby shower, and I realized I never blogged about my baby showers! SAD!! I wanted to, I was just so busy at the time moving into a new house and preparing for ya know, a BABY, that I didn’t get around to it.
SO…today I am sharing pics from my baby showers, as well as some current dress favorites I have found out there for you mama’s to be! My favorite dress that is pictured above was sold out forever, but is now back in stock! It is so cute, and so flattering. something about the frills at the top make it super flattering on your new found curves. You can find it here (use code NEWLOOKS for 25% off!) I had my showers all around 33/34/35 weeks pregnant, which was a perfect time because you have a “clearly pregnant” bump, but you aren’t super duper swollen yet. Which by the way–happens.
I chose to have three smaller baby showers with different groups of friends and family, and it was just lovely. I had a HUGE bridal shower, and it was a little overwhelming trying to talk to everyone so I decided that having a few smaller showers was much more manageable!
My cousin and best girlfriends hosted the most gorgeous baby shower, and can you believe my talented cousin made these cookies to match my invitation? Amazing!
All of the decor was so feminine and beautiful. Everyone wrote sweet notes of encouragement and advice to me and baby girl, that I loved reading afterwards.
It is so funny looking back at these pictures. It makes me miss my bump as crazy as that sounds! It just goes so fast, once you are on the other side of it.
But anyhoo, back to what to wear to your baby shower. I had several dresses from Pink Blush that I loved! They were affordable and much cuter than things you find in the store. Honestly, I didn’t love maternity clothes, and mostly just wore normal clothes and sized up accordingly.
The dress above was my favorite, and it was maternity. The one below is as well! I wore this for pics at some point along the way, I think I was around 30 weeks but I can’t remember now. I will say this dress runs small in the chest area, you have been warned. I was wearing a medium and it was a close call. But I think this would be beautiful for a shower! It comes in about every color you can think of, so you have many options. I think it would be really pretty for newborn photos as well, and forgiving for a new mama.
I wore this next dress (below) for maternity pics when I was 36 weeks pregnant, and it was not maternity. I just looked for flowy dresses that had a high hemline, and this one worked great. I loved this dress so much, but I actually sold it to another mama who had her baby around the same time. I am glad it went to a loving home! I found that a lot of the Gal Meets Glam collection at Nordstrom worked well even though they were not maternity. I took a peek, and although this particular dress isn’t available anymore, I thought this one was really similar and would be so pretty for a boy mama!
Pink Blush is currently doing 25% off with code NEWLOOKS, so it is a great time to buy! I have included my baby shower picks below! Looking back at all of this makes me want to do it again soon, am I crazy?! YES!
